anything better than ipod |

hey.
i was thinking of getting an ipod but have heard that cos the battery can't be replaced the life span of an ipod isn't very long ie less than a couple of years. but is there anything that even competes in terms of desirability and/or (to a lesser extent) functionality.
i'm guessing the new mini ipod will have a similar problem. why don't they make them with a removable battery?
thanks in advance

@peeta - A Juke Box I guess will solve your problem here, though it's electric powered (no use when there's blackouts) - just for laughs here . . . No better alternative, for the Ipod for now I guess |
