@trader, thank you for the information but i don't use smart1 APN. i always use the internet APN with the ericsson gateway for WAP and internet APN for browsing the internet via Ir, cable and bluetooth.
cheers. |

Just want to make things clear....GPRS is free 'till further notice and is only available to postpaid plans (well that's what the guy at the service center told me), while WAP is charged here, either smart or globe for 8 pesos per minute. And this 'charge' is not included in your free minutes, that's the case with smart.

kieboy, welcome to ESATO. try to post at pinoy chit-chat too.
okay, let's make it all clearer. WAP via CSD (the old dial-up method) is NOT free, but WAP over GPRS is FREE. So it depends on how you access WAP. (This also applies to GLOBE users) |

kieboy, it is very clear GPRS is free. nobody said CSD is free. and if you have the old consumable plans, yes it is included in your free minutes. |

T39-Audi, Smart supports GPRS only for postpaid subscribers. For prepaid, you can only use CSD which is 9.6kbps. |

T39-Audi,
using a Smart SIM card, compose message 'SET WAP T68' and send to 211. |

i have updated the OTA information to include manually setting the DNS address on the data account SmartPC. if there is no DNS specified, you may find that the T68 email client will not be able to connect to your POP/SMTP/IMAP servers unless you specified their IP addresses. |
