you get a new one if you have a insurance... then you get a new one as soon as it's been reported to the police and you report it to the insurance company. The phones IMEI number is blacklisted in the EIR database (international IMEI database, the phones IMEI is checked against the database, if it's blacklisted the phone will be blocked from making any calls), and then it can't be used anywhere in the world.

it means it can't be used... when you turn on a mobile phone it always checks the IMEI number against the EIR database, if it's whitelisted it's ok to use it, if it's blacklisted (for example if the phone has been reported stolen) the phone will not be allowed access to any mobile network...

an insurance scam on behalf? sounds very stupid... if the insurance company reveal the fraud you'll have to pay probably way more than a new T68i would cost... buy it instead...

It was reported in the Guardian newspaper a while back that there had been more insurance claims for Nokia 8210s, then Nokia have ever made!

I would like to point out over here it seems that only the network you are connected to will blacklist your phone if stolen.

Someone I know used to have a few stolen phones (given to him by some dodgy guy. didnt know stolen till after he got them) and they would work on all networks bar one - the oone it had been stolen from. And Voda and BT(O2) have only in he last couple of months started to blacklist phones!
