I think its time to upgrade my old palm m130.
I like the palm os but am willing to try something new!
I got about £200 to spend on one and am not sure which to get for my moneys worth, i know a couple of you here on esato use pda's and thought you mite recommend one.
At the moment it looks like the Palm Tungsten T2 but am not sure, are the windows bassed ones any good?
Thanks

I got my self a Palm Zire 72 and I recommend it STRONGLY! it's a great PDA with camera (1,2mpx), MP3, videoplayer, taskmanager and great sync with your PC/Mac, and expansion memory with SD/MMC-card... I'm very satisfied with it here is a link for more info: http://www-5.palmone.com/no/en/products/zire72/index.html

yes, I practically love it I also have a 512mb SD-card, so storing pics and capturing video is not a problem.... with the card empty, you can take 20000 ++++++ pics with the highest quality or 6 hours +++ of video in 320x240px... and you can get pretty much music on the card too... and video too... It's with other words AWESOME!
My SD-card is TwinMos card, cause I'm a big TwinMos fan...have TwinMos DDR-RAM memory on my pc too

I've been using pocketpc since it started and currently use the iPAQ 4150 and can highly recommend it. wifi, bluetooth, great screen, compact size, pocket word and excel etc etc and an SD slot in which I currently also have a 512mb card but am watching an ebay auction for a 1gb card (wow!)
having used the pam III, V and Vx in the past I can see benefits for both, indeed I got my wife a Clie because I thought it suited her better as I find palm OS to be a little simpler for the average user
the 4150 is a little over your budget though so you could look at the 2000 series

i have got a HP ipaq 5450, the windows PPC OS is great in my opinion, it is quite similer to Windows XP and is very easy to use.
I Can't really compare to a palm as i have never used a colour palm PDA.

Not sure,
The palm has a 1.2MP Camera, and both have bluetooth. Though the Ipaq has double the RAM and windows OS. If your not bothered about the cam i would say the IPAQ, but the Palm does look good considering it is £188, (£40 cheaper than the ipaq)

Still stuck (zire 72 or the ipaq h2210) thanks to massur putting a spanner in the works by talking about windows pocket pc's I dont know what to get!
Hope you can help me decied which one to get.
My main reason's for having a pda are:-
Internet and wap
Playing games (gameboy roms and stuff)
The amount of freeware
Ease of use
And also now play mp3 and video clips
So which does the best the easyist from the list above
The zire 72 of the ipaq h2210
Thanks for your comments

sorry about that but having been through the palm thing and now using the pocketpc I would never go back, well except maybe one of the high end Clie's
btw, take a look at PocketGear to see what sort of software is available for the pocketpc platform
I guess you could also take a look at PalmGear too
and then there is handango of course

looks like the PPC has more ram and a better processor, so will be better for games. It also has windows media player, so can play mp3's .avi's etc. And pocket TV is easily available to play mpegs. There is also software to convert a whole dvd to fit onto a 128mb card.
I haven't been able to find a decent emulator for GBA but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
Internet explorer to view the internet is great, only drawback is that you can't save pics from the browser to the PDA. I would say that the IPAQ is better, though the Palm is cheaper and has a decent cam on it.
@masseur does the clie use palm OS, or has sony created there own platform for it?
