Nokia’s research into future phone technologies. Not too much is really surprising; they’re looking into using radio-frequency tags for payment through cellphones in much the same way DoCoMo’s doing with its new FeliCa services, and are experimenting with the idea of different kinds of displays—flexible, twistable, stretchable—to get away from the tyranny of the current glowing rectangle. The most concrete product of the search for the future so far appears to be a Bluetooth headset mike powered by a tiny fuel cell that they’re currently testing in-house, which will keep on trucking provided you give it a squirt of methanol every 10 hours.

This is nothing related, that this is forum. Nokia phones just makes sometimes BOOM and with methanol is Nokia a deadly weapon, not a phone.
May the power of search be with you

Well...what batteries are shorter and shorter?
Haven't you seen that today's phones are recharged every week or so?
I remember my old Ericsson GH688 eating a 1800 mA or something in 3 days. Now my T68i is eating a 700 mA in 5-7 days without heavy usage...what are you talking about?
They are trying probablly to reducethe costs of their devices and that is GOOD.
