Odd real estate listings are almost as fun to surf as weird eBay auctions. Here's an ad for what sounds like a charming Baghdad villa, complete with "recently restored water and electricity," and "Big basement designed also as anti-aircraft bunker with water facilities." Asking price for the property is only $665,000 USD, in a neighborhood described as "calm & safe."

I hope that AK-47s are provided too!

I wonder how long before we get one of those 'Start a new life abroad' type TV programmes being set in Iraq?

Fingers crossed. I've hear Iraq described as being the 'crade of society', where modern civilisation really started.

Let's hope peace will soon fall over Iraq - so you won't need to carry AK-47s.

Also fingers crossed that the US (and UK!) doesn't keep on invading countries without a proper reason! Sorry, getting off topic...

Its hard to avoid going offtopic in case iraq. The country is more then worth for a trip. The museums, buildings must be fantastic. Mesopotamia and the sumer culture gave so much for the world.

yes,it is true that these areas have been a craddle for human society.but the reach countries have the tendency to forget this and think that everyhing called civilisation have been invented by them the egiptians were building things like pyramids when others were in the jungle still. did you also knew that the oldest homo sapiens skeleton have been found in Romania? (a country that hosted the tracs few hundread years before the roman empire, a country also so much inflamed at this forum also)
