Problem on P800.Pls help (PH) |

i have an openline SE P800. Ive been using this unit with a GLobe SIM for months now. Until suddenly i had this boggling problem. Whenever i use my Globe SIM the message is "Emergency calls only". So i got no signal and i cant use the phone. I tried using a SMART SIM and theres no problem at all (strong signal). When i tried using my globe SIM into a Nokia phone, everything is ok, so i ruled out the possiblity that the problem is from the Globe SIM itself. I called Globe telecoms and they said that theres no problem at all with my SIM and account. Now i dnt know whats causing this problem. I appreciate any comments and help from u guys. Thank You and more power |

have you tried inserting/using other globe sim? maybe your sim is "physically damaged"

Jowi, its not blacklisted. The unit is from Sun Cellular, i verified it with globe and they said that they cannot block a phone that doesnt came from them. Only the NTC has the authority to do so.But since its working with all the other networks (Sun Cellular, Smart), i dnt think its blacklisted.from time to time i get a signal, but it will lasts for only a few hours, sometimes minutes.90% of the time its "emergency calls only". I guess this is diffrent with a "No network". And according to authorities if your phone is blacklisted, there willl be no chance that u will get a signal. Mine from time to time is getting a signal.I dnt know whats causing it really.Thank you for the comments |

dude, just bring your phone to SMARTNET 8961837 which is an authorized service provider. Tell them your phone is unusally drops singals. While you are there, have your software upgraded to the latest version, this might solve your problem. If they find out you unlocked your P800. Just tell them you didnt know it was unlocked. Of course, dont show them your globe sim. They would probably lock it after an upgrade. Anyways, you can always have in unlocked again for free from whom you had it unlocked in the first place. |

thanks steer, u know i came from SE makati this morning. The CSR said that it might be due to the unlocking that resulted to the corruption. Anyway i really dnt trust her that much coz shes not a technician. Im thinking of unlocking my phone again. i just dnt know how. wen i got it, its already openline. ill call smartnet steer.tnx |

Steer might be right.
Both Globe and Smart run on both the 900 and 1800 frquency bands... but I think Globe uses the 900 band more and Smart the 1800.
One of the frequency antennas on your P800 might be broken or misaligned.
