Hi, this is my first post in this SE forum. I've just gotten myself a 2nd hand T68i (upgraded from T68m) which uses the Black (rubber cover) Lithium Ion Battery.

I always thought that Lithium Ion will not suffer any memory loss as Nimh but looks like I'm having that problem with this battery that came with the T68. After a full charge, the phone works pretty well with the right indication. But somehow after it reaches 50%, it will immediately jump to Low Battery status. Is there a way to solve this? Right now this battery could only last me 1 and 1/2 days.

My older (2002) T39m's Lithium Ion is still working perfectly fine and it even lasts for 3-4 days of average usage.

Thanks!

sounds like the battery is nearing the end of its life and needs to be replaced. lithium polymer batteries do not suffer from memory effects.

On the label on the battery is written the date of the manufacturing, looks like this: 12w02. What does your say? Btw welcome here.

Thanks for your replies!

I guess the battery is coming to its end. It sort of surprises me as I never through it could be this soon. Well, everything will eventually comes to and end.

On the label of the BST-14, its printed BKB 193 150/75 R3A and
S/N: 04331CPGHHS 01W52

Wow, that means that your battery was made on the 52. week in 2001, almost 3,5 years old. No wonder its going to die. Sorry, u have to get a new one, but actually u should keep this as backup.

Thanks for the information!

Since it could last for a full day, I'm still keeping this. Gonna get myself a replacement battery. Hopefully with the rubber back.
