Hi

Is there some sort of speed dialing function like my old Nokia 3210 where you assigned a number to a specific key and you then just had to press and hold that key to dial the number ?

I don't think the T68i has any fast dial function. You could always press and hold the 2 button if you where calling someone named A-something, but is you need the buttom number listed with A it is too slow...

The "Speed Dial" function is fully described in the manual.

====
You can save the phone number you want to reach easily in position 1-9 of your SIM card.

To call any of these number from standby:
- Enter the position number and press YES.
====
Hurtigopkald
Du kan gemme de telefornnumre, som du nemt vil kunne ........

====

You should spend some time reading the manual

So the T68i has kept the weird practice of forcing speed dial to be from the SIM?

Drat, that's the one thing I really do not like with the T68. My old Nokia was much nicer here: pick a number in the phone book, assign it to a key. Done. Trying to move phone book entries around on the T68 to align them for the SIM card just seems silly.

Other than the a button to access the phone book, you can also use 3 to 9 button for other names starting with the letter on the button.

ericsson's implementation of speed dial is more powerful than nokia's. with nokia the assignments get f u c k e d up when you change SIM cards, very annoying! with ericssons just set up your SIMs once and forget about them

I think that Nokia's speed dial is quite badly planned. It is too easy to call some1 by mistake But on it isn't as easy when you have to press 2 keys
