I live in a flat 24 floors up & my signal is really pants. The signal bar is most of the time full, but the voice quality durng a call is horrible. A can never hear the person I'm speaking to & vice versa. The voice quality is fine when I open the window, but this is a problem as the temperature outside is 44ºC!!

Does anybody know a good way to improve my signal without opening a window?

Cheers

Hang a aluminium hanger outside your window with the wires coming in to your room. It will act like an antenna

In case you find that method too crude and you want to be whacko... then go this website and order one that sticks to the back of your mobile

Don't the wires have to connect to the phone?

Do those things actually work???

sounds to me like the signal from the basestation is to weak... a window should normally not be any problem so either the basestation is to far away from your house, or the operator have turned down the effect....

Even though the phone displays full signal?!?! The nearest mobile post is about 1km away from me by the way.

Cheers

1km.... hmmm... might be that... you are probably just within reach from it, but not much more, and enough to give you full signal....

Oh rite. I thought those things could distribute signal round a large area..... The building's owner actually wanted to get an amplifier, but as he's a stingy bastard, he didn't

Anyway cheers

the range depends on how much effect the basestation has... can be that the operator doesn't want to turn upp the effect any more, depending on the enviroment within the basestation or something...
