Hi, is there a way to set the screensaver so it shows longer time? Now the clock shows up to quick.
TIA |

it is possible to make your own using a gif animator program. i made one once that goes for about 20 seconds - i don't know if there is a max. and i agree they are pointless...

isn't a screensaver on a clamshell phone pointless anyway? how often does your phone sit idle AND open to look at the screensaver.
Mine: never

I was thinking to have the phone open when I've it in the car, then it should be nice to see a screensaver rather than the clock. |

Not entirely Vlammy. You can indeed alter the screensaver to make it longer. Simply add more frames to it, and that will increase the run time!

I have my Z600 opened while browsing net via gprs on my notebook and also when using fma and using itīs remote control... itīs useful to have it opened, u donīt have to touch your phone... only using keybord, but I donīt need screensaver running longer...

don't forget one thing: the more frame your GIF will have the more it will eat your memory.
This is, I guess because the phone will in a way extract each frame from the GIF and count them as an individual picture of roughly the same size of the GIf. My screensaver is originally 76KB and ends up on the phone to use nearly 300KB of memory.
I also tried to use GIF that was 120KB and of about 20-25 frames, the phone was never able to display it: Low memory came first even with 2000KB free memory.
As for me, what I would like to do is prevent the looping of the GIF or say choose the number of loops.
By default, with firmwares above R1A, it's 5 times (R1A plays only once).
And you can't change that either below or above.

it should also be noted that in an animation like the one i posted in this thread (see above), the first frame pauses for a while. there are gif programs that allow you to pause on one frame for a set amount of time. if you google "Microsoft Gif Animator" (this utility is 100% free) and open a gif animation, you can change how long a particular frame lasts without increasing the file size.
this gif is the same file size as the original Sony Ericsson screensaver, but it plays longer.
of course if your animation plays many frames that are all different the file will be much larger.
