Changing network name from One2One to T-Mobile |

I don't know if anyone has posted this before but I have managed to change the network name displayed on my T68 from One2One to T-Mobile, quite by accident. I went to Connect then Networks and was messing about with Select network and Preferred nets. I am not sure what happened but No network was displayed and I couldn't make any calls. I switched off and back on again. When the phone registered with the network T-Mobile was displayed instaed of One2One. Very odd!! |

the reason it did this was you were sent a sms with the updated network name so when you next turned off your mobile it would change the setting. no biggie really just sme people got the change straight away while others had to wait

yeah, but can you switch it back???
you were more than likely just sent the update and while reconnecting to the network the update appeared on your phone. |

That's a strange coincidence.
Network display names are not usually transmitted by the network. An network id such as 234-30 for one2one is transmitted and this relates to a network name stored in the flash in the phone. I know this to be true for Nokias because I have edited the flash before and then re-programmed the phone with updated display names, T-Mobile and O2 etc. |

Yeah, mine changed from one-2-one to T-Mobile just yesterday, although I did'nt do anything or switch it off ... it just did it during the day on it's own accord! |

well as far as i know you cannot change it back. when i upgraded my t68 it displayed 02 and uk vodaphone in full, unlike before. and i am more than happy being upto date. so why would you want it to go back to a company that does not exist anymore
