thanks jojo! Yes, the 6600 is really cool... (but /me still wants the 6620 if it only could work in Russia...)
By the way:
These are hot RUSSIAN news!!!
The first russian-made and russian-trademark Mobile Phone was announced 'bout two weeks ago and now it is in stock of some shops, that are part of the biggest and coolest russian_whiterussian(belarus)_ukrainian operator MTS (Mobile TeleSystems)
Yes, it is a trademark of MTS, it's MTS S-680
it's an "opening" (don't know how it is in english, so I'll say it's form is like LG G7100 - maybe clamshell?) phone with both of the screens monochrome.
EMS, GPRS & some other functions of course are built in da phone. The pic is:
A stylish phone, as u see!
by the way, laffen, shrink da size of "message was edited by tra-la-la" it's not so beauty to having size more, than the text in message... ok?

Eh art i wouldn't be so enthusiastic about mobile telesystems or their phones. Lets say it's the biggest and most expensive network. I'll go for them as soon as they start selling contract phones.

as I heard (/me knows where to hear), MTS want to start selling contract fones, which first must be... yes, S-680. They also said that for people who buy this fone will be many privilegies.
(in russian to Payalnik: ne, realno, oni tam k etomu telefonu planiruyut stoka pribambasov delat... Im eto vygodno iz-za togo, shto mobila budet stoit namnogo deshevle, chem kakpj-nit ee analog iz-za granitsy) |

Yes Art, that's what eldar said. But i want to see smartphones like px00 or imate on contract, since i don't think the mts phone is good.

We'll see... We'll see... About another fones even I don't know...
Of course it would be cool for us when MTS will launch contract system...
Btw, and BeeLine has contract fones? Simply interesting... |

Hey, u'r speaking like u'r an insider while u are not! :-)
The contract system seems one of the few ways out of crisis for Vympelkom

eerm.. I'm not a full insider... too hard to explain...
About vympelkom... I didn't know 'bout they are selling contract fones... That's cool, but as for me, I'm in no need of that kind of fones. But maybe (or certainly) it is a good solution for providers. |

Well, coming from a country where phones were sold under contract first (initially over 2 years if I remember correctly) is that you're stuck with the phone and the network and have to spend the entire contract period paying for it. For those who don't use the phone that much or prefer the freedom of being able to switch networks whenever they want, pay when they want (or not as the case may be) Pay As You Go is actually better (PAYG came after contracts and is quite popular over here, more so than SIM-free handsets and buying a seprate SIM, which you can also do) and, believe it or not, managed to make mobile phones available to people on lower incomes or couldn't pass the credit checks that mobile operators insist on for a contract.
A contract over here gets you a number of free calls and free text messages every month, with the option of changing your tariff at least once a month (combination of how many minutes you get, the more you get, the more expensive the monthly "line rental" so the minutes and text allowances aren't really free)
Contract customers usually have a wider choice of handsets than PAYG customers, but any handset available SIM-free can be bought and all of the operators (except 3) sell the SIMs by themselves without a phone, although SIM free handsets are very expesive, even compared to pay as you go! |
