Give tiny a call. all new pc's should come with recovery disc... why do you need to reformatt?

agreed. as crap as Tiny are they still must provide you with an official licenced copy of windows XP with the holograph stick and a key for it
I love Sony for this as they provide both the original Microsoft disc but also a full product recovery to restore the pc to the state it was in when first bought. My kids mess their laptops up with so much rubbish, spyware, and other stuff its easy for me to just do the product recovery and it only takes 20 mins or so!

i didnt actually get the pc my grandad bought it for me
i went back to computerworld yesterday and they said my grandad had the chance to pay an extra £20 or something at the time he bought the pc to get a reclaim disc
when i asked him he said they told him no such thing
the bloke in the shop said to get a copy of xp pro from someone and use that but i dont know anyone who has got it
has anyone else had the same trouble, did you get a result
i need to reformatt it as my pc is full of crap
does anyone know tinys email
i cant believe they dont even suppy a disc, if id have had a choice i would never have bought from them |

lesson here is... dont let your grandad buy a pc! seriously go back and tell them you werent offered or given the disc at time of purchase.

AFAIK they MUST either supply a disc or provide a way of making the disc from folders stored on the hard drive. my guess is that the 20 pounds was prob just the cost of providing a CDrom set to you.
take a look around the hard drive and see what you can find.
Windows 98/ME often had everything required to install windows in the C:\windows\options\cabs folders and you simply ran the SETUP.EXE that was there.
I believe XP has it in c:\windows\i386 but I have never had to do a reinstall on XP so am not sure how to use the files there
just a favour, don't be asking for a free copy (or to borrow a copy) of xp here because of course thats not allowed

well it didnt work
tiny went into liquidation and owed loads of money, time bought the name and not the company so the company doesnt exist
so basically i am screwed and theres nothing anybody can do about it
they just gave me some stupid phone number
so basically theres loads of people out there like me or that have problems and theres nothing anyone can do
they say my grandad should have bought some package and the disc would have been supplied
its discusting you pay £700 for a pc and then have to fork out more for an IMPORTANT DISC that should come included
my grandad is like 80 if he had been told he needed that disc he would have bought it
i am sooooooooooooo angry hasnt anyone had the same problem
