I, too, have had complaints about the echo. I can improve it slightly by moving the phone further away from my mouth. Much as I love the style of the phone & features, I do wander if we are paying the price in the quality of what the phone should be best at - speaking to people.
Don't know what we can do about it. I had R1B and then got upgraded to R1C - no difference. |

The echo is network dependent. If you have bad reception you can get echo. |

hi, i'm experiencing the same with my t65, last time when im using other fone my friends didn't complain about the echo. it's in the same place( they call me in the office) and the same sim card(operator), i just change my fone to t65. and my wife is complaining about it( she could here her own voice in the background).
I went to the service point and they upgrade the soft. again ( i ask for the upgrade last 2 weeks ago bec. i notice i don't have some of the games ) my software now is R3A. it improves, it's not obvious ( means the echo is now in lower volume and softer ). but it's still there.
The guy said need to send back to the manufacturer/main headquarters. I didn't send it back coz i need to backup first.
Seems that i need to try it,
CAN anyone help me about this b4 sending to ericsson.

The problem is with the echo cancelling that exists within the network, and the phones interaction with it
Since the advent of EFR ( Enhanced Full Rate ), much more sophisticated echo cancelling has been required, and does not always work !
The fact that you have been in the same location with the same SIM is pretty much irrelevant IF it has only happened a few times - the reason for this is that you were given a particular timeslot ( this is what your conversation is carried ), and that timeslot may have been subject to routing through a defective echo canceller
IF it has happened more than a few times, then you may have an issue with the handset. I get a situation occasionally where people ringing me sound incredibly distorted , like their is a buzzing everytime they speak - presently waiting to see is there is a trend
The problem with the phone would be in the hardware rather than the software
Hope this helps

Yeah, I had the same problem on both my 3210 and 8210. It rarely happened so I just put it down to 'one of those things'.
