Quote: Chelsea part company with Ranieri Monday May 31, 2004 Chelsea confirmed today that they have parted company with manager Claudio Ranieri. The club announced in a statement today that the Italian's tenure at the club has come to an end. A statement from the club read: "Chelsea Football Club today announced that Claudio Ranieri is to leave the club." A Chelsea Football Club spokesperson said: "Claudio has done a first-class job for the club and paved the way for future success. We would like to wish Claudio all the best for the future. We are discussing the exact terms of his departure with him and his representatives." Chelsea had been widely expected to dismiss Ranieri, who guided the club to the Champions League semi-finals and second in the Barclaycard Premiership, to make way for a new man. Jose Mourinho, coach of Champions League winners Porto, has expressed an interest in the Stamford Bridge job. Mourinho has long been favourite to succeed Ranieri, who has known for some time that he has been on the way out of the club. _________________ Guns don't kill people-People kill people!!! I have to say that this hasn't come as a surprise! They've treated Raineri badly - he's done very well at the club, and it seems like a case of 'if the face doesn't fit...' He probably didn't get on with Abromovich!
I have to say I'd like his sucessor to do badly, make the Abromovich et al. look very bad!

Yo, make that three. This was really bad, I felt bad for him all year. I mean, he went far this year. I would love to have him at Olympiakos. So, if managers don't win it all, then they are gone. I thought that only Real Madrid did that. They even fire after winning the CL or finishing first in Spain.
Anyway, I do you add an imoticon to a thread? I would love to have used a "confused" one right now.

He did very well. He helped the team beat Man U in the premiership, but they didnt win the FA cup
I think that if he stayed next season he could help them win a cup or two next season, but sadly not. Not that i care, im a Man U fan
