T610 display connector damaged! |

I've just bought a T610 off Ebay (Yes, I know! ) with a broken screen. I've taken it apart in order to replace the screen - and found this! :
Apologies for it been very fuzzy, but as you can see, the little metal securing clip has come away, and three very small pieces of the cream-coloured plastic have come away from the connector itself. The LCD now doesn't slot back into this housing, it just slips straight back out again!
The phone otherwise powered up, and would probably have made calls and everything.
Is there anything I can do, or have I just wasted a lot of money on what's now a pile of T610 spares?
Bugger.

Was there some white tape over the connecters? Because if not thats why it has come apart i reckon.
You could put the lcd connector in and tape it or, im not sure but can u buy a new connector and solder it in?

No chance to solder a new connector on the pcb. It has multiple layers and need special tools. Take it to a se service point.

@dungeonmaster: I was afraid you'd say that!
I have been wondering about inserting the LCD's ribbon into the connector, then placing some tape over it to keep it in position. I'm just wondering if it's worth my while buying a new LCD for this or not. It looks like the previous owner has replaced the phone's facia, and used a sledgehammer to take the thing apart!
btw, how much do you think it would cost for to repair this problem at a service point?

I've done a couple of searches on here, and can't find anything on this kind of problem.
Just tried taping the connector in, didn't work, but this could well be because the screen is knackered!
