Is there any software (preferably free) for a PC that can rip audio from a DVD in order that I can use it as a ringtone etc on my P900.

well i really don't know because i never did that but my best guess is that you actually record the audio with a recorder on your pc....
just set it to "what you hear" and click record

at least that's what i would have done but i don't know which software you got, i got a few programs free when i bought my audio pc card...

You've obviously never explored a dvd, its made up of .vob files and .ifo files. There are no audio files, so you can't simply copy them.

I had a Chemical Brothers DVD for Xmas of the wife. It was also available on CD but I wasn't prepared to buy it on AD as well. I searched for audio rippers that were free but they were all shit. In the end, I purchased DVD AUDIO RIPPER. I'll route some info on it when I get home in about 90 mins.
