Here is my receipt!!

Got it done at Novo Digicom in Warrington.
It took me nearly six hours and a lot of direction asking, but i got it.
Today was the first day they were doing it. Glad i got there early cos loads of people were coming in through the day.
It takes half an hour to upload the software. The women behind the desk were really kind and helpfull. But if you take your phone in tommorrow you will have to wait over a week cos there are so many to do. They said next week they will be charging for them to be upgraded as they only thought a few people would come in.
And to top it off, as i was walkin back to the station i found £30 in a puddle!!

Just messin about with it at the moment, but i have managed to get 122 pics in the phone, of an average size of 5kb and the t9 is good but not nokia good.

Excelent service by Novo, i would recomend it even if you were just getting your phone fixed.

But take a map. It is a mission to get to and find.
You can go in to the place or send your phone to them.

Thanks to edwardm for the directions, but i needed help from passers by.

Im so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeh, no where else in the U.K has autherisation to do the upgrade!
Any one sayin they got it done at a carphonewarehouse is just talkin out of his arse to try and look good!

It seems highly unlikely to me that you happened to pick the *only* shop in the UK that was authorised to do the upgrade.

Also, although I have seen no physical proof, I don't think people saying they got their phone upgraded at CPW are talking out of their arse. CPW has service centres which do that sort of thing.

Maybe it was the shop that you went in to that were talking out of their arse?

Phone them then you little s*#t.
Has any body actually got it done at the carphone warehouse. Erm. No. Cos they dont do it, not in store anyway, they have to be sent to scunthorpes branch so i suppose you could get it done there, and i said that its the only place with autherisation. It doesnt mean other places wont.

Anyway, if you phone them, they can give you the details so that you can send them your phone and they will send it back, Only costs about 2 quid for postage and stuff!!!

Got mine done today at Novo too. Had my doubts when the receptionist spelt Software as 'Softwear' and Ericsson as 'Erricsson' . However, they didn't con me out of money and did a good professional job. Had to wait about 4 hours though (stayed at my parents house 15 mins away).

A technician remarked "here we go!" when I handed over my phone and demanded the upgrade. Looks like they are expecting a surge in demand as word gets about.

All Carphone Warehouse SERVICE centres can upgrade your handset to the t68i software.

Its funny that people believe what certain shops say as if it were the gospel.

I work for a major phone retailer in London in an area that is very competitive with regards to mobile phone / handheld computer sales.

The smaller stores frequently run out of stock and use the same excuse every time "The has been recalled".
Customers then walk away assuming that the shop that has just lied to them, is telling the truth.

The person who started this thread needs to take on board the following point:

"Would SE seriously ONLY release the software upgrade to an obscure repair centre, in a non metropolitan area rather than major service centres in major metropolitan areas".

If you answer the question in the affirmative, you are deluding yourself.

Stop being an idiot.
1. Autherisatoin is not a word
2. CPW repair centres are authorised the do the upgrade.
3. I got mine done at the CPW repair centre in Glentworth Str, London (just off the Marylebone Road, along from Madame Tussauds) on Tuesday.
4. If you think I'm talking out of arse, step a bit closer and I'll dump in your ear.

Just to confirm..

Carphone Warehouse in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol also do the upgrade. There's no 'authorised upgrade' at all, SE released the upgrade onto an international server that every single SP in the UK has access to, why the hell would they tell one measly little shop that they alone are authorised to use it? Don't listen to them.
