Thats what i was told by a sales person (o2 customer service) yesterday , i had one delivered which was no good (kept crashing/resetting) and a replacement was ordered.
5 days past so i rang them to see where my replacement was and then was told at the moment we are not stocking the 6230 due to the volume of returned sets and phone calls of people having problems with the 6230.
I got a different phone on its way now

Just spoke to a friend at Nokia in Finland and he confirmed there talking crap! There is a serious shortage of the 6230 because there sales forcasts where wrong and they can't produce enough for the European markets-thats OFFICIAL!!! Networks often give s/w as an excuse to cover the fact that they can't get any-saves embarrasment!

Why would a network be embarrased if nokia can't make eough of them? They would just say it's a stock shortage?

Because an operator does not want admit another network has more influence with manufacturers than themselves and thus has priority over available stock!

Can't help but notice you're very Nokia biased. Your friend works for Nokia (Who lie about Everything!) and you're posting from a Nokia.
Nokia will admit nothing, they even told me that nobody had ever complained of software problems on the 3510. At this point I moved to SE because I was sick of Nokia trying to make out it was me who was the problem and not the phone. |

There are many problems with the 6230 and don't let people tell you different.
Resets itself for no reason , bluetooth dropping connection and this is just a couple of remarks. It drove me insane and CPW are aware as well if you deal with someone who doesn't lie just to get a sale.
The phone is very buggy and pretty much crap as it stands at the moment

Telling customers the phones faulty would be stupid if it were a lie!

only using Nokia at the moment as P900 in 4repair. with all phones there initial difficulties-but lets not slate one manufacturer because where biased towards SE. No manufacturer wants 2admit there fones r not 100percent-but look at the 7110 and orange issue-they denied ever havin probs, but we all know that not 2b true! ;-)

You can't really call be biased as I owned about 5 Nokia handsets before I bought a T68i and then a T610 (Which has just come back from being repaired). I sent my 3510 to be repaired and it came back without even being touched. Same problems, they had just dismissed it and classed it as user error. That's when I decided I wasn't going to buy another Nokia as it's quite insulting for Nokia to say that I'm making the phone freeze for no reason. |

But look at Celestica with SE-possibly one of the worst service agents with a reputation to match a gutter rat! All manufacturers have there faults. The idea of this forum is to share ideas and unbiased viewes rather than slate anyone person/company through personal experience. Think it's best we help each other find ways round faults or false info and share relevant info and generally be more constructive, yeh?

The 6230 i got has an updated firmware version and none of the bugs were present. Here in India, its flying off the shelves. The shop i got it from already has people waiting for it. Seems like 6230 will sell very well until the K700 reaches stores. Speaking about bugs... doesn't anyone remember the hissing sound problem with the T610 when it came out?
