T68 / IRDA problems... |

Hi All,
I am new in this forum, but I hope you will try to help me anyway  )
I have this great phone (yes a T68, of course )
However I have a "small" problem" with the IRDA connection.
The thing is that I need to connect the T68 to the PC and I want to make a back up of the phone (by means of the back up software mentioned else were in this forum). Anyway This is what I have done so far:
I have activated the IR receiver on my computer and I can see in the systray that there is a communication going on between phone and PC
I have installed the MPM from SE
I have installed the backup SW for the T68
Now the real problem is that when I start the backup SW it does not "see" the T68. I mean the backup SW does not write what kind of phone etc etc. and the button "backup" is not active. However when I start the backup sw I can see in a glimse of a sec that the MPM is activated in the syttray, but then it "goes away" again.
Now I have realized that what i miss is the "link" between the IR connection and the backup sw, and this missing link is the MPM sw, but how can I get it to work correctly??????
I have also tried other programs for the T68 but the result is more or less the same. Further to this I have triede on two computers but still no result. However the strange tingh is that the "my picture" sw (or what ever it is called) worked for some time, but now nothing works..!!??
I have tried almost everything..reinstallation of the SW both the IR, the MPM and the back up. I have tried all possible setting in the IR sw and the MPM sw..I have triede two computers...but nothing works...I have also checked this brililiant forum (so I did not have to bother you), but no one seems to have this problem...or maybe I am just to dumb to have it to work )...but PLEASE HELP ME...someone...

oohhh I forgot to mention that in the MPM sw I can not even see my T 68 name nor the SIM card name. And in adition to this I can tel that I have activated the COM 4 (were the IR is connected)
a last thing the blue smilieys should have been  and not ) sorry

try to check if other programs are also using com4. MPM doesnt like to "share" with other programs |

I have just bought from maplins when i try and get my pc to find my t68 it finds it them after about a second it cant find it again help please please email me badboyzukltd@lycos.co.uk please reply by email if possible thanks

My friend bought a new T39 phone. We installed the softwares from CD. First time looked ok, but second time the IR port didn't work properly. I reinstalled all the softwares but the problem wasn't solved.
The solution in your case : We took the phone to Service Point and reinstall the phone software.

I think u have to install the phone monitor for the software to work, It's part of the Ericsson software, hope that works,

Hey Guys/Girls...I am not sure what I did or did not but for some reason all works OK now..I wanted to try to do a comunication with the backup SW a last time before I went to the SE service point for the BIG upgrade, and wooow it WORKED..I am not sure what had happend but after this it seems to work all the time......
Anyway I just want to say THANKX alot for all your good advices.....
