Just imagine... 4 years ago all we ericsson fans bought r380. For the new ones it was a phone with touch monochrome screen. All we lucky owners thought that this handset would stay up-to-date for a looong time. But we were wrong. The bulky fokia communicator with the colour screen came out and we felt disgraced (but with greater mobility as communicator is awfuly big and it cant even be carried in a pocket. When t68m was released we felt up-to-date again. I personally quited. Im tired. Tomorow 3. Next what?

Well bt (bluetooth) actually its 10m, in several months, it will be 100m, then 1km, then 10km, then like internet...etc.
Tomorrow, mobile phones will have the PS2 and Xbox processors to play games.
Tomorrow also, mobile phones will have the resolution of the eyes of a human, or maybe better than human, who knows...
And a looot of things, we would'nt know possible.
Not technology in mobile phones or SE phones only, but in the whole world also, like transportation, and everything.
What awaits in the future is unknown, maybe we'll be flying...

That's why it is so interesting to live! We are waiting for the eye-attaching or direct-brain screens, videophones, new input technologies, batteries and i think its good!

like what my science teacher told me ages ago....
what you know now will be invalid tomorrow.
as with technology, what we have today will be obsolete tomorrow.

bluetooth wont ever go to a 1k radius it will be old and dead and hardly used in a few years wi fi will take over for all the smart phones and the 10m bluetooth will remain for people with bt headsets and some better models may have a 100m radius mobiles will have resolution higher than the human eye? you insane whats the point if you cant see the detials. we will probably end up with 5mp cameras at afordable prices in our phones and expandble memory will bewcome the norm and micro hard drives will become frequently used in top end phones offering around 3GB of data. UMTS will be the norm offering around 500Kbps dl aand browse speeds. and to top it all off phones will have hydrogen power cells. |

A very important factor in mobile phone development has not been mentioned yet, economics. Technological advances will only be made available if they are commercially viable. To take one example, digital cameras; a mobile phone will never have as good as or a better camera than a dedicated camera, unless consumers can be persuaded to stop buying cameras and buy mobile phones with in-built cameras instead.
Many of the technologies that we all wish for are already possible, but cost and commercial viability holds them back. For instance, it is perfectly feasible for us to build colonies on the Moon and Mars, but the cost holds us back. Technology is only ever implemented in the public domain when it becomes possible to do so at a reasonable cost and where the possibility of a return for that investment exists.

Well, my opinion is that our mobiles will evolve into all round devices that will have everything onboard. They will replace every mobile gadget we have like mp3 players, digital cameras, gaming devices, video cameras and many more. By buying a cellphone we will have everything.

I agree with most of your predictions, but l am somewhat dubious about the hydrogen power cell.
Mobile phones are becoming so versatile that they can't really be called mobile phones anymore, certain models at least. 0ne of the biggest changes, l can see ahead of us, is the replacement of credit and debit cards by mobile phone based payment systems. This has already partly come true in some countries where a mobile phone can be used to pay for some things. Mobile phones have so much potential because they are so ubiquitous. In this regard they are almost unique as there are very few other items of technology, which are so widespread, the only one coming to mind is a watch.
