Here in Portugal, my provider Optimus is offering free wap over gprs since August 2003.
However if i use the apn internet instead, with the t610´s email client or java apps like cmessenger or webviewer i have to pay.

In my country, the rate is 2 US$/month for unltd WAP over GPRS. For the unlimited HTML surfing over GPRS, the rate is 10 US$/month.

used to be free here in the philippines by globe telecom, but unfortunately the network operator charged the subcribers and even blocked many sites, what a shame...making great things possible--nah, not anymore... |

Personally i dont use wap or gprs at all unless its for small things such as email, i dont surf the web on my phone(s).
You think phone companies could offer mobile internet for free, as 9kbps wap or 40kbps grps isnt much of a strain on their networks.. especially when they earn so much money from 35p+ per minute calls on your average PAYG tarrifs. |
