Image Editor (T630) never detects my phone |

Well, I followed all the instructions and installed the XTND driver software that comes on the CD of my newly acquired T630. THen I also installed the software.
I am using a Bluetooth USB dongle that is properly configured. Windows recognizes my device when I turn on BT on it. It is able to connect to it and all.
And yet ironically, the software delivered on the CDROM (which is actually up2date with what the website has) does not work. In particular the SE Image Editor shows everything greyed out and says "No T630/628 detected" no matter what, and it doesn't have any menu to even set options/settings. Why is this "software" (if it deserves to be called that) non-operational???
I am actually able to use a free app called FMA (Float's Mobile Agent) fma.sourceforge.net to communicate with my phone to retrieve and sync the whole thing. BUT I need (and want) to have the SE Image Editor working.
Anybody nows how to make it work? or is it just a software that pretends to do some work but it doesn't?
My setup:
Sony Ericsson T630 mobile
PC with Windows XP Professional
SiteCom Bluetooth USB dongle

the latter I'm afraid. I have once managed to get it to work with a data cable, Win 98 and a T300, but that was the only time ever. Nowadays on Win2k, and with it's proven to be a total PoS software.
Why do you need tp get it to work? I usually just rightclick the images I wanna send and head straight for 'send via '
I actually edit my images in Photoshop, but any other image software would do the job. If I were you I wouldn't tire myself wit image editor anymore.
Good luck.

I'd say (s)he did not enable the COM port that corresponds to the BT serial port in Mobile Phone Monitor Options under Control Panel.
All SE and Christersson software requires proper installation and configuration of Mobile Phone Monitor.

I actually have the serial port enabled for the bluetooth, that is how i got FMA to work. I am afraid I will have to agree with the others in that Image Editor is a PoS software. |

In fact Floats Mobile Agent does not even require Mobile Phone Monitor to be installed. So whether you enabled the COM port or not is irrelevant. The SE software isn't that good, but there is no reason why it doesn't work.
