Here is a chance to see 2 hopefully bright comets in one year. Yup as I enlighten you my dear people one of the comets are already visible in the evening sky and getting brighter as the month progresses, by mid may it should be quite visible to anyone, and as of now it easily seen by sharp eyed people or through binoculars Here is the article which also gives details on find the elusive comet. http://www.astronomy.com/Cont[....]cles/000/000/001/727bsdvn.asp, whilst they won't be as bright as hale-bopp or hyakutake, they will be a sight some of us that have never seen a comet. Also another interesting thing that takes place in June will be the crossing of the sun by venus also called (venus transits the sun) in astronomy circles, whilst this is a very rare occasion (last happened 122 yrs ago) I must warn you all that pointing any optical intsruments towards the sun is not a very wise thing to do and will result in instant blindness, and if you're blind how will you be able to see all those cool phones, so please either follow the local astronomy club intsructions or watch the event in the media, more on this one later when I get the article. So please folks enjoy the comet hunting and the venus transit but be very very careful, (i'm stressing on it) especially for the younger ones and some adults that do make rash judgements, think before you act, cause it can be fatal. thanks for your undivided attention.
