does "phone backup" work with both t68m and i? |

after failing to make the "xtnd" synchronization software work (i tried both the latest and next-to-latest versions, downloaded from the sonyericsson site) in either windows 98 or XP (although the infrared DOES recognize my phone, and i can send files to the phone)--at any of the IR transfer speeds (i tried them all)--i ended up using "phone backup" from christersson.org to backup my t68m (in anticipation of the t68m->i upgrade). the program worked fine and everything is backed up. i just have 2 questions:
1. is this program compatible with the t68i as well, so that i will be able to restore everything after the upgrade? if so, what about the fact that there are no longer 2 fields for 1st name/last name in the t68i--how does the program deal with that? does it combine both fields into one, or omit one of the fields?
2. why can't i get "xtnd connect" to work?!?! i've tried everything!!! (including searches here in the forum--i didn't find anything to help me, but if i've missed something relevant, i'd be happy if someone could point me to the relevant post(s))

what do you mean? you've tried backing up the phone with "phone backup", and when you restored, it didn't restore your data properly? how exactly? and did you do this from t68m->i, or was it m->m or i->i ? |

THE data just did not finish .. restore.. only part of it .. and if u restore it again .. the stuff will double.. and mine is M->m aft the R2D Sw upgrade .. i think u shld use the window outlook .. it is better .. no problem .. at all .. good luck . |

well, i wanted to synchronize with outlook, but my problem is that i didn't manage to make the "xtnd connect" software work! but so far, i've managed to back up all the data on two t68m's without any problems (with phone backup), and i tried "restoring" the "settings" part of the backed up data on one of them, and that worked fine...
i would prefer using the synchronization with outlook option, but since i can't, i'm using the only option i have left: phone backup. i just wanted to know if i'll be able to restore this after i upgrade to t68i... (it would be nice if it worked perfectly, but even if it makes "mistakes" when restoring, it will be better than having to enter all the data in again manually...) |

i was trying to synch my t68i via infrared and i faied/. it says waiting to get phone ID and then just stops. i can send and receive items using windows. is this doable JUST with outlook.? |
