Scandinavia is not a country. Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland are not states, but countries.

Scandinavia is Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden together.

Scandinavia is actually ONLY Norway and Sweden. The Scandinavian peninsula. Even though tourist companies say something different. This is what the Webster dictionary says.
Denmark is often seen as part of Scandinavia since they were in union with Norway for several hundred years. Similar with Finland, they were in union with Sweden for hundreds of years.
The correct term for the five countries Norway, Iceland, Finland, Denmark and Sweden is the Nordic countries. So the correct title of this thread should be: "Nordic thread, at last!". Especially in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish "norden/nordisk" should be the words when referring to the five countries in the Nordic council and the inhabitants (including the self governed islands Åland, Faroes and Greenland). In Icelandic it would be "norðurlöndum/norræn". In Faroese probably "norðurløndum/norrøn", but I'm not 100% sure.
Finnish is a completely different language (as far away as possible in Europe, even Hindi is closer related to the Nordic languages...), which I don't know at all.
