The charge counter within SE phones count for what?
- each full battery charge?
- each charge whatever fully or not?
- per battery or per phone? |

It's for full charges i do believe. So you can charge it just an ikkle bit, and it won't add to it.
I presume its just per phone, istead of being a battery thing.

I would have thought it's per battery?
shouldn't it reset to 0 if you buy a new battery?
and yes full charges only.

Well if it was per battery it would mean storing data in the battery itself

it is not per battery. just tried by myself. it seems the counter is stored in the phone.
don't understand why Ericsson has this implemented. any other vendors have this feature?

It is indeed pointless as it gives no information wahtsoever on batt performance

It's there to see how much the phone has been used, like the joystick counter in t68. |

would mean:
It would reset when you took battery out
Or you would need some sort of serial number so the phone knows its a new battery

It is on the battery circuitry. All li-ion/polymer batteries (phone and laptop) have such circuitries. A low count doesn't necessarily mean your battery is still good. I have a Li-ion battery that only has 80 charges registered but it's dead due to old age.
p.s. Li-ion/polymer batteries will age and eventually die even if they don't go through a lot of charge cycles.

How do you find out what the current charge count is? By using some hidden functionality or hidden menu item in the phone? By using fMA (floAt's Mobile Agent)? By using something else?

@Bico FMA tells you the charge count, don't think it is in any hidden menus on the phone.
Why did SE take the joystick counter out of the service menu on the t610, that was a cool feature on the t68i.
