you need o2 to send the gprs settings to your phone. when they do it will show in your messages under auto setup. then all you do is tap on it and select save new settings

GPRS availability is indicated by a blue triangle just above the green triangle (which indicates signal strength) in the top left hand corner in flip closed and bottom left hand corner in flip open
to be sure the indicator is enabled go to control panel, connections, internet accounts, other and check that the preferred mode is automatic

try turning your phone off for half an hour. o2 say it can take up to 24 hours for the network to be updated and sim card.

here are the exact settings i have:
in internet accounts i have o2 wap gprs and that is preferred. when iclick edit and go to advanced these are the settings i have.
account name - o2 wap gprs
connection type - gprs

username - payandgo
password - password
address - payandgo.o2.co.uk

PROXY -

OTHER -
enable PPP extensions - ticked
authentication - normal
oh an on QoS i have

peak rate and mean rate are both subscribed
are these right or do they need to be changed because evertime im on opera i get "couldnt connect to remote server"

unfortunately, as I mentioned in a different thread yesterday, I don't know much about o2 but I do see that is a wap data account whereas opera requires an internet data account

i did ask all this at the o2 shop and they said i should be able to access hotmail because the p900 has a built in H something or other browser lol it kind of went over my head.....
well ill have a fiddle around and keep trying....
the only thing is its really bugging me as hotviewer, agile messenger and java msn nvr work on my phone so there must be something wrong with the settings cos plenty of other people are on o2 and have these apps installed and they work fine......
