Hi all,
Do anyone else got a "bad shopping" experience with http://www.technoleum.com ?
I saw that site mentionned in the forum and decided to buy a P900.
I did receive a email telling me that the item has been shipped but the tracking number provided is not recognized by the shipping company. ( I saw that before so I did not really panic at that moment)
20 days later, I still havent receive it..... and of course no answers to my emails....
I only have a few days left for filling a paypal complain ( Up to 30 days after the purchase). So, did anyone else got issues with that site ?

Nice grammar.
File a complaint immediately. I don't know any package that takes weeks to ship from anywhere.

A little follow up on this, it was a scam after all....
I receive the following from paypal:
"
.....
Seller's Name: Antoine xxxx
Seller's Email: antoine@xxxxxxxx.com
We have determined that the seller is at fault in this matter but regret to inform you that we were unable to recover any funds from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.
...."
I volontary added some xxx to the id of this person. Not that it is really useful considering that anyone can actually find out who register the domain technoleum.com...
So short of a trip to chicago, looks I have to say bye-bye to my money...
Thank you Antoine and thank you paypal....

I don't understand why they can't get your money back if they know it's fraud.. Shouldn't they now be arrested and paying back every penny they stole? |

i feel for you man that guy got 729 dollars for free. the pay pal system has saved me once this guy sold me a mp3 player fro 50 quid and he never delivered i told pay pal and within 2 weeks i got the money back. You should e mail them and ask why they cannot refund you what went wrong and why the guys allowed to carry on trading
You should kick up a fuss after all you just lost $729 i would take a few weeks off work and track the bastard down then smash a shovel in his head. |

more text from paypal :
"...
Status:
Case Closed
Status Details:
Our investigation of this complaint is now complete.
The seller did not respond to our requests for tracking information. Therefore, we attempted to award you a full refund. Unfortunately, there were insufficient funds available in the seller's PayPal account to complete the refund.
PayPal does not consider this a satisfactory resolution of this complaint. We have taken action against this seller's account until the complaint has been resolved.
No further action is required of you at this time.

Sound like it is a nice way to say "Sorry, but...."
I have to admit I am a bit dissapointed, I thought the main reason to use paypal was actually security....
Question : Is it possible to try to get a refund with the CC company directly ( namely mastercard ) ? The obvious problem it seems is that paypal play the role of the third man.

well if the moeny came from mastercard credit card you have the right to claim of master card under the credit act 1974
but then again you didnt directly pay with the card your card gave money to pay pal then the pay pal accoutn paid the scam you seem to be in legal no mans land get some legal advice asap then get in touch with master card. You really should be doing this your self not being told by a comp[lete stranger what to do.
You'd think pay pal could get funds out the guys bank account linked with his pay pal account if its that easy to scam people with pay pal i'm putting a few p900s up tonight. |

It depends on your plan for the credit card. I hope that you can get a refund. Do whatever is in your powers to destroy this person. Make him hurt. There is nothing worse than having something stolen from you. And f**k PayPal, as you said, almost all of us use them for their so called "security". What a joke.

That is absolute rubbish on behalf of paypal. I would contact your credit card company immediatly, irrelevant that a third party was involved.
Paypal are responsible to a degree for the dispatch of your purchase, therefore you should be covered under the 1974 act.
Call you card company ASAP, don't sit on your ass emailing people like so many people on hofo do, get some action, report this to every possible authority, your local police, there local police, the card company, and keep copies of absolutely everything you have sent and received.
In the UK we have a citizens advice bureau (free consumer legal advice) and a trading standards department (consumer affairs). Contact the equivalent of these in your own country.
Sit back and wait for something to happen will result in this person getting away with it again, until eventually he hits the wrong person.
Don't let it carry on, make sure you are the wrong person.

Unlucky mate. Typical Pay-pal. What were they expecting: what kind of fraudster leaves the profit from his crime still in his paypal account???! I think they have some sort of maximum liability thing going on though...not sure how much that is. Good luck.
Edit: I recall checking out the site, after you'd started this thread. Paypal are nearly as bad as he is: they charge exorbitant rates...advertise him as a "verified member"....and then hang their honest customers out to dry.
