The HomePod MP-100 Wireless Music Player is a WiFi-equipped device that can stream music from home PCs, including music from Apple iTunes (although not iTunes Music Store DRM'd .m4p files). While digital music streamers are nothing new HomePod's cross-platform support is a nice feature, with even Linux, xBSD, and Solaris options available (at least according to eHomeUpgrade. The HomePod site mentions only Linux, although perhaps the GLOO Media Server software is available for cross-compiling).
HomePod Features:
• Backlit 128x64 LCD Display • USB 1.1 (Host Mode)
• Built-In WiFi (802.11b) • Ethernet Port
• IR Remote Control • IrDA
• MP3 & AAC* Playback • FM Radio Tuner
• Internet Radio Playback • Wall Mountable
• Right & Left Audio Outputs • S/PDIF Digital Output (Optical and Coaxial)
• Built-In Stereo Speakers • Headphone Output
• 32 MB RAM/16 MB Flash • WEP Encryption
• GLOO Media Server and Remote Control Software
(Mac OS X; Windows 98/Me/2000/XP; Linux Compatible)
