I GPRS with my t39. Mostly I use it with my palm to surf but also to wap as I do now. I live in Sweden and use Comviq, so I use it totally free of charge until last of october.

On orange, I pay £4.00 a month for 512k. Its about 1500 wap pages. If u dont use it all , it rolls over like unused minutes on your talk plan. If u use more u pay per k. Eg, if u use an extra 125k, its about £1.00.
Its much faster than wap, in my opinion it is worth it. That is if u use wap quite often.
Hope this helps. |

cheers joe i think im going to give it a go,im on o2 and theyve just launched a web service using pda's linked to phone.i think its £7.99 for 1mb then theres higher use tariffs. on orange is there any minimum term for your gprs subscription or does it tie you to it as long as your voice contract? |

No contract, u can disconnect it any time and at no charge. They do have higher k plans, but these are more suited to people who use gprs for pc internet usage, 1mb is about 20 internet pages, much bigger than wap pages. |

yeah,im told certain palm browsers convert the web pages to a simpler format/size to better suit a palm, then giving more pages to the mb.clever stuff but i dont think id use it for much more than wap on the bus home etc! |

I use GPRS quite a lot with WAP --- here are the applications that I use:
- Checking subway and bus times (I have bookmarked the routes that I used the most)
- Reading the news
- Reading this fourm

Yes I use it all the time! Just leave my phone connected all day and only get charged for the data I send/recieve.
I use Voda and get 15mb inclusive data/month for £25 but I think I'm going to go back onto GPRS 5 where I get 5mb/month for about £15. Each addittional mb is charged at about £3.50 depending on which tarrif your on.
Faster and cheaper that dial-up wap connection so it's worth it for me.

I use GPRS on Vodafone Uk and it is £17 a month for 5MB, and 0.2p a K after that. Much better and faster
