I am wanting to use my T226 to connect to the internet from my laptop. I read this site and it said to purchase the DCU-11 cable, which I did. I installed the software and that is as far as I have gotten. Nothing else helps me. The cable only come with the software for the Cable. Tried to go to SE to download the driver for my phone and it must be a corrupted file because I tried to install it and it keeps coming up with an error. My OS is XP Home SP-1. I am about fed up with it. Can anyone help me and explain to me what I need to do from here. I am stupid when it comes to this stuff. Please help. |

you need some mobile connection software, like fma (floats mobile agent). not sure but think there are threads about it already...

You don't need FMA for connectiont to the internet.
The only software you need is the software driver for the cable (if it is USB.. no driver is needed for serial), and a compatible modem driver (any recent SE or /// GSM models). There are dialup suite and scripts for T300 which can be used for other SE models.

I have already installed the software for the USB and the Scripts for the T300 because there isn't one for the t226. (Is the T226 capable of doing this?). I then uninstalled them and reinstalled the driver for the t610 using the serial modem option. When I click on AOL 8.0 it does not recognize the modem when it goes to set up the new connection. What do I do here?

Change the COM port speed to 9600 bits per second. Device Manager -> Ports -> COM x where COM x corresponds to your USB cable.
Unless the T226 does not support modem function at all(which I am pretty sure it does), there is no reason why the T300 script would not work.
You can go to Control Panel -> Modems to set up the modem first.
Note that even when it's been set up, your mobile service provider must support dial-up data for you to be able to dial AOL service. Most North American service provider do not support dial-up data (Circuit-Switched Data CSD)
