I've only recently started to use the GPRS on my phone more recently - has anyone got any tips for mobile-based 'surfing'?
Firstly, I'm looking to do it as cheaply as possible - it seems that some ppl here are on their GPRS for hours on end browsing Esato - what are your phone bills like?? Any tips for keeping costs to a minimum would be appreciated - e.g. turning off pictures (which I've already done).
I'm going to probably be doing most of my mobile surfing of this site from my R520 with an Orange (UK) pay as you go sim in it, and also my T610 with an O2-UK contract sim.
Any 'power' tips, or useful little shortcuts? My apologies if there is already a thread similar to this - I couldn't find one using the search though!
Thanks

Disable images, enable cache. use bookmarks for stuff you will acces more often so you don't need to browse many wappages. and try to get a GPRS bundle for cheaper data-charges....I believe O2 GPRS is still free for now |

Yeah, that's about it. Don't disconnect if you're only taking a five minutes break; you gotta pay every time you connect.

Thanks for you tips - keep 'em coming!
It sounds like I could actually be better using my O2 contract phone for GPRS stuff - sounds like it's cheaper than my current idea of using my Orange pay as you go phone.

i think the 4.99 is for wap.voicestreamnet.com or whatever their site is-my friend who doesnt have the t-zones can still use his gprs for free! |

@rencomp -
Does this 'unlimited' GPRS that Orange does - is it available for pay as you go or is it contract only? On o2 (my contract phone) you can get 5mb for £8 (approx. $12, or 125mb for £42.55 ($65ish)! Ouch!
It seems that using GPRS in the rest of Europe and the US is a lot cheaper than in the UK - I hope the price will fall to slightly more sensible levels!
