Sony will ship is latest ultra-slim five-megapixel digicam in Japan on 29 April, the consumer electronics giant said today.
The CyberShot DSC-T11 follows on from the slimline T1 announced last October. At 186g to 180g, the new model is slightly heavier and slightly longer, too: 10.3cm to the T1's 9.1cm, largely thanks to the addition of a curved strap attachment at one end. However, the T11 is thinner - just 1.7cm to the T1's 2.1cm.
Like its predecessor, the T11 sports a 2.5in LCD and a F3.5-4.4 Carl Zeiss lens with 3x optical zoom. Inside is a 5.3-megapixel CCD capable of taking a 2592 x 1944 image. It can also handle 640 x 480 video at 30fps, encoded in MPEG 1 format. Sony claims the "hybrid" LCD offers much better viewing characteristics in bright lighting conditions.
Sony claims the camera's imaging processor allows shots to be grabbed and stored within 0.042s of the shutter being pressed.
Pictures are be stored on MemoryStick Pro Duo cards, and transferred to a computer via the camera's built-in USB 2.0 port. The same port can connect the digicam directly to a one of Sony's digital photo printers. The camera ships with a USB cradle/battery recharger. The T11 ships with a removable rechargeable battery.

i'm gonna get the f828 soon too....that's to compliment the t1 i got earlier this year.......
u r right...they dun haf a full blown dslr in their range but the f828 comes really close...in fact....it's better in many aspects than certain dslr in the market currently.......

well my uncle has a f828 and i have to agree that some pics (especially the colours) look more lively, but if you compare the pics with a canon d300 (which my father owns) you will see that slr are still ahead, if you zoom in a pic (on your pc) you will notice some chromatic aberation with f828 while the pic stays clear with the canon, and not to mention that you can change your lenses with slr cameras....
though if you go from a slr to a digital one you will notice that the same lenses won't give you the same effect.....
for instance a canon e5 with a tele lense vs a d300 with a tele lense..
i don't know exactly how do this numbers convert with a digital camera but i can ask my father....
btw if you don't have any lenses than f828 is an excellent choice my father bought the d300 just because of the lenses (he had some from before...) |

Sony's DSC-T11 American Tour Cancelled
Looks like that CyberShot DSC-T11, a slightly thinner version of the the DSC-T1, will not be heading to American after all. No big loss; the DSC-T11 wasn't different enough from the T1 to really set itself apart. Thank you, Sony, for letting us hear the news and for listening to my presentation on why 'Smell the Glove' would be a perfect.

I have to agree, having looked hard at the T11. I certainly won't be changing the T1 in just yet
