I went into the Orange Shop on Oxford Street in London yesterday (21/05) and was pleased to see the T68 back in stock (it has been out of stock and no display models for a few weeks). The chap said they had just got them back in that day and that they now had the software upgrade and therefore had the same functionality as the T68i.

Now the question is, Should I upgrade my aged 6210 now and get a T68i for all intents and purposes for £129? Apart form the physical differences which doesn't bother me, it is the same phone isn't it?

What I don't want to do is buy it and then find out in three weeks that there is one cool feature that I am missing.

Your opinions pls......

If you like it (t68i) get it! The T68m and the i will be exactly the same after the MMS upgrade of the m! You won't miss anything! However, many say that the opposite might happen, cause there are rumors about the upgrade of the m stating that it will not offer everything that the i has! However i don't believe that something like that will happen! Anyways, i'm satisfied with my T68i (as i was with my m some months ago) and before these i had the 6210 like you! So i believe that you will also be satisfied!

Make sure you get that in writing.

No one else can get the software upgrade - SE themselves say its not out yet. I wouldn't trust the bloke in the shop that these phones have the new software.

I enjoy every minute I use my T68i, with my T68m it was the opposite, in the end I almost feel my stomach ache when I just thought of it - and all the mess I would cause when I would go to the Store, which where completely stupid, but I called an Support Direct phone number and they solvet it all to me. I just had to return teh phone to the Store and get my money back!

Then and the same day I went to another Store, much nicer ppl. working there, and bought a T68i - and its really rocks!!

I have never had any problems with them, but their range of phones is poor.

I've had a Nokia 6210 for a year now. I'm also looking to upgrade to the SonyEricsson T68i.

I rang up Orange today (22/05), and they told me that the T68i will be available by the end of May but they don't know the exact date.

I'm still thinking about getting the T68 and then upgrading it later to the T68i. I think this will be a cheaper option. But like you, I don't want to buy it and then find out that it is not 100% identical (apart from the appearance).

I also don't want to find out that buying the T68i will be cheaper than buying the T68 and then upgrading it.

I think I just have to wait and be patient

Hi i actually work for Orange on Oxford Stree and yes its true people the T68 is upgraded to the T68i in our stores!

the bad news is that in my store alone i have 45 people on a waiting list so chances are that you sniff any part of it for a few weeks by which time the T68i in white will be out.....

My advise wait 2 weeks BUT PUT YOUR NAME ON THE WAITING LIST FOR THE T68i NOW!!! TO AVOID DISSAPOINTMENT.

UK's only deidcated online Vertu Sales

Jiggyjaggy, which branch on oxford street do you work in? I was told that they weren't upgraded and that no one sure the T68i was coming out, and no one said anything about a waiting list.

I just rang 150 and was told that Orange are not upgrading the SW from m to i then I was told and the lady checked with a service person that it can't be done becasue the HW is differant!!

Managed to get the phone number of the Sony Ericsson Service Center in Brighton - going to try there
