a guy was shot twice early yesterday morning while crossing the Williamsburg Bridge for refusing to give up his cellphone:
Mr. Muchalski, who said he had woken up only 15 minutes earlier, tried to argue with the man, showing him that his backpack contained only CD’s and notebooks. He offered the man his rusty mountain bike, but the man quickly became fixated on Mr. Muchalski’s cellphone, which he refused to hand over, the police said. “Hey man, I’m a hard-working guy, I don’t make much money,” Mr. Muchalski said he told the man. He spoke to reporters from his bed at Bellevue Hospital Center, where he was in stable condition yesterday.
But what’s even crazier is that he got himself shot over such a crappy phone — Nokia’s 3390, which sells for about 15 bucks on eBay. Cops busted the culprit standing a few blocks away from the bridge with the bike.

Hey, it's not the actual item, it's the principle. One man's trash is another's treasure. I wouldn't give up any of my phones, not even the ones that are cracked across the screens. They've got sentimental value!

Agree, my phone is mine. And it would not be easy to give away for anny reason. But ewery thing has it's price, and I think my life would be a good price(maybe not for the p900).

I think it's probably the fact that he worked hard to buy that phone, and that it was his - and he wasn't going to give it up to some git who just wanted to take it from him! It doesn't matter if it's a knackered old 3310/90 or a brand new P900!

Have you ever been threatened from someone holding a gun?
It happened to me in Constantsa,Romania in 1994. And this was not for a mobile but for 5 USD. That amount of money 10 years ago was a fortune for someone.
Because this has happened to me I would give my belongings with no second thought. Trust me, your whole life passes in front of you in one second! And dont try any heroism. It aint worth it!

which is fatser... the arm that swings the axe or the bullet?
Of course we could all go around carrying a gun.
But I know one thing: if I DID have a gun and I would ever be forced into a situation, I would use it. And somebody would die. And I do not think I could live with that.
So i choose not to carry a gun. Least the chances of me taking a life are a bit slimmer that way. And when mugged I just give up my stuff. They're only stuff. I'd fight till the last breath for the ppl dear to me though!

Don't think i would want to risk it though, unless it looked fake with a big orange piece of plastic at the end of the barrel
