I just got my new t630 phone, but i want to do a full reset on it. I try to do it, but it asks for a unlock code, does anyone know how to get the unlock code. I also have a cable connector so I can hook it up to my computer, is there software that does it? |

All right, the unlock thing was successful, but it still doesn't get rid of the tmobile factory settings, anyway to get rid of those? |

Do u mean the T-mobile buttons on the desktop and all the links to T-zones?
You need to have your firmware flashed to the standard version. Im not sure where or how you do this but others will be able to help.

Look for the 13 sec trick, that will get rid of the T-Mobile stuff!

I am trying to remove my T-Mobile settings on my phone and restore them back to regular Sony Ericsson ones, I don't beleive the 13 sec trick does that.

i tried to remove the t-mobile settings from my t630 as well
the only way to remove is either to flash the phone yourself (voids warranty) or go to a authorised sony ericsson dealer/repairer and have them do it for you.
wanting to keep the warranty i decided to take my t630 (complete with t-mobile settings) to my nearest authorised dealer/repairer known as MPRC (mobile phone repair centre). I also took my t610 along for a software upgrade. a 1 hour wait and i recieved my phones. after switching my t630 back on the t-mobile settings were still there. when i questioned this the response i got was that t-mobile actually change their phones software so much that none of their settings can be erased. EG:- the more option is no longer on the standby screen, you have to press c to bring up the lock keys/turn on silent menu, the desktop icons/config is identical to a t610 (the 'my friends' option is missing from the t630 t-mobile version and is replaced with the same shortcut arrow icon as t610. t-mobile have also added a media album option to the phone)
basically what t-mobile have done is installed the software from a t610 over the t630 so at the end of the day you have got yourself a t610 with a tft screen and none of the new features that the t630 has.
i decided to buy another t630 because of this and looked around for one without any operators settings pre installed and it had to be liquid black. after some searching on ebay i found a seller in who imports from hong kong. he sold me a liquid black sim free t630 brand new, no operator programming/branding installed and it arrived in just 2 days for £210. best of all i didnt have to pay for any customs fees.
my friend bought my t-mobile t630 (he had just lost his nokia 3310) after i recieved my nice untampered with new t630. Also, my new imported t630 seems to hold more items (more memory space available ??). the only problem is that in the themes menu the 'traditional' theme is in japanese and cannot be changed. this is the only one out of all the themes and i have changed the others to their english names.
unless you are willing to have a go at flashing the phone yourself which still leaves some of the operator installed features on the phone and reverts back to these settings if the software is upgraded. i'd see about getting another, preferably not linked to any network.

Have just been on ebay. Searched for T630 and then looked at items available from the US. There are loads of terminator dongles on there which I've heard apparently will remove some of the t-mobile stuff but it will leave the t-mobile icons on your desktop menu. If you need to update the phones firmware after flashing it you will end up with all the t-mobile settings back.
Thats as much as I know.
Anybody else have any ideas ??? |

Don't know where you get your info, but that's wrong. The Terminator dongle can remove everything, turning it into a "hot off the SONY Ericsson assembly line phone", with no branding, what-so-ever.

Yea, a terminator dongle off eBay will do the trick. They cost about $30. But anyway, why did you get a T-mobile phone in the first place!!?? |
