T28 firmware data cable |

Hi,
I've been mulling the board and decided that it's about time I destroy my T610. With attempts such as uploading new firmware. Having read up on every single thread I can find on the subject I find it to be no more complicated that flashing any other device.
Although, there is the major problem of what cable to buy. I've aquired some random cable, which has a SE connection at one end and a RS232 style connection at the other. This does not work, natch.
From the things I have read and seen it appears you need a cable with both a parallel and USB port on it? Is this correct. Please could somebody point me towards the type of cable I would need to alter firmware on my T610.
If anybody knows a retailer of the said cable in the UK (or even ships to) then that too would be handy.
Kind regards,
Dash. |

You need a cable with a special "terminator dongle", readily available on eBay. Reason is that the PC software that does the flashing requires the use of this dongle as an anti-piracy measure.

Any chance you could describe this particular dongle? I have numerous dongles for various things all over the place, so I would need something a bit more specific.
Cheers,
Dash.

No idea. You go to ebay, type in "terminator dongle" for the search, and you'll find out. I don't have one myself so I can't tell you what it's like. |
