Hi Sindu,

There isn't a problem as such with bluetooth and 'magic word'. It isn't supposed to work that way. To work the headset would have to be 'listening' all the time for the 'magic word' and to do this you would have to have a permanent b/tooth connection, like when you are recording voice dialling using the headset, which would decimate battery in both handset and headset.

When in 'auto' and a call is received, the phone polls for a b/tooth device. When in 'on' mode and you press the button, the headset polls for a b/tooth device, and the handset answers.

Hope this clears it up

But the "magic word" was suppose to free your hand from touching any button both in the phone and head set. When the magic word is accepted by the phone, isn't that suppose to open up the voice command for some function of the phone such as "busy", "accept", "record" etc ??? I can only let my head set/handphone accept voice dailing with a press of button on the headset but that's all. Any suggestion guys ??

Have you activated "magic word"?
Settings -> Voice control -> Voice settings -> Magic word
and then check "Car handsfree" or "Port handsfree"

I have the same problem. I just cant get anything to happen in my phone with the magic word. Every setting seems OK. If i push the button on my hbh-15 i can do voice dialing perfectly though. I will hand in my phone for upgrade to R1C tomorrow and see if it helps.

I upgraded to R1C now. No difference. I called ericsson and they said that the magic word does not and will probably never work with their bluetooth headset.
It should be mentioned somewhere in the manuals i think.

Thanks Guy. I had upgrade to R1C and the magic word is still not working. I think NYDC is correct.
