Right, I've had just about enough bullsh*t on these forums. There are nothing but rumours flying about: he said this, and they said that.
Face it people - the staff member you talk to at your local mobile phone store is some dim whitted gimp who barely has enough brain cells to open a till and take your money. Just because they work in a mobile store reeeeally doesn't mean they know everything about mobiles!
When someone says something to you, like they've "talked to SE and they say they say the software is not being released", they're either (a) lying, (b) misundertsood something that was said, or (c) very f****** stupid.
Having said that... I've talked to someone at the Carphonew Warehouse at The Forte shopping centre, Birmingham. Here are the "facts" that I'm still taking with a pinch of salt (you'd be daft not to)...
- The update WILL be FREE
- The update will be performed in store and take a couple of hours max
- The update is not available just yet (dispite what was said by some guy on the Carphone Warehouse main siwtchboard number)
- They expect the update anytime in the next month. They basically have no idea.
So, what can we determine from this?
- The update will be free
- You should not have to send away for it
- It WILL come. Eventually.
Chill out. Be patient. Yes, SE could be accused of false advertising and that is out of order. It's also a seperate issue.
Hold tight - the update IS coming!

Well i think we can all say that Carphone warehouse people don't know sh!t, one woman said she didn't have a clue what i was going on about, one bloke said it would be free, then went out the back and came back saying it will be £30 and will be released this week - Im sure it will! NOT.
I think we should just hang tight and wait till they release it properly until we can give official facts.

Yep Cpw at the fort told me the same also the livery st branch had no idea when the update will be out
