Take a look at this link to Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay[....]item=3089951646&category=29776
Wow. Someone has got hold of a S700 already!
Waht amazes me, is that someone has placed a bid for a phone that is not available until the end of the year.

I suspect they haven't gotten hold of an S700! Looking at what that seller's sold in the past, it's mainly old coins. I bet his account's been taken over without his consent by scammers with no intention of sending anyone a phone! This happened to me once when I suddenly found myself selling a motorbike I have never owned!
The poor seller probably isn't aware that his account has been taken over.

read what they say, lol:

"We are an authorized Sony Ericsson dealer. All our products are new with full manufacturer's warranty. We do not sell returned, refurbished, gray market, or defective products.

All products are shipped in factory-sealed conditions and complete with sales invoice."

They shud show them holdin the phone or its box or somethin!

I've just tried sending the seller an email via the 'ask the seller a question' link to let him know his account has possibly been taken over, but just realised that his email could very well have been taken over as well
Hope they don't have a go at my account now!

Does it go to his email or just the ebay login thing.

They've got several auctions on the go so the real user may check the account.

But to be on the safe side youd better check ur account now for auctions of more stuff that isnt out yet!

well it now says...

"Invalid Item

The item you requested ( 3089951646 ) is invalid, still pending, or no longer in our database. Please check the number and try again. If this message persists, the item has either not started and is not yet available for viewing, or has expired and is no longer available."

but everytime new phones are announced they appear on ebay so this is nothing new. When the P900 was announced we must have had 20 or 30 ebay postings here with people saying similar things to "what a con" because of course, they were. Happens all the time on ebay

Well, as PT Barnum said, "...every minute passed, anotha fool is born" In my opinion, the blame is shared also by the one buying an item never produced. If u wanna be certain u aren't being coned, go to a shop and buy the phone...in December.

There's the old saying that goes something like "who the fool? The fool or the fool who follows him?"
It looks like Ebay pulled the listing, they probably realised is was scammers, the owner of that account's going to wake up to a bit of a shock though when he finds his account suspended!
The listing had all the hallmarks of a scam - payment only by Western Union or Moneygram, overnight international courier delivery for 90 pence (!), and a listing asking for payment in US Dollars from a UK-based account that had previously only sold old coins! I wonder though what was going through the mind of the person who actually bidded on the auction?
