Hi!
I have a T68i, which I bought secondhand to replace the LCD. I did this fine, but when I put an Orange sim in the phone, it says 'invalid mobile' where the operator logo is, and makes 3 beeps if you try to make a call. It still shows signal bars though. Does this mean that the phone has been blocked? It will work fine with a Vodafone sim, makes calls and everything, no funny messages or anything. I always thought that if a phone got blocked, it was on all networks in that country, so what's happened with this phone? Oh, nearly forgot - the phone isn't locked, when going into the service menu, it shows everything as unlocked with the open padlock on it. Thanks!

Yep, the Orange sim still works, and has credit on it. I've made a call off it in a 3310 and it's appears fine!

Don't think so - when you go into the service menu (the one you get to by pressing >*<<*<*) shows all the padlocks as unlocked, I have an 02 sim somewhere, will try that in it too. The phone also has an orange logo show up when you turn the phone off as well.
p.s. I think this is my 10th post so my avatar will show up!!

Just tried a new search and also select network in the 'GSM networks' submenu in connect, and with no joy! The new search just kept searching and searching, and when I did a select network it simply said 'no network'

I bought a 2nd hamme T68i a while back. After a few weeks it displayed INVALID MOBILE whenever I had an O2 or Vodafone SIM in it. Worked OK on Orange, T-Mobile & Virgin. The reason being? I was told it was because it takes a while for a network to tell the other networks that the IMEI has been blocked. Lo and behold, it became locked on all networks after a few weeks!! Always buy your phones from a reputable source.

The phone will be blacklisted. It may continue to work other networks though.

One thing I was wondering, my thinking confirmed by Orangeman, was that maybe the previous owner hadn't paid his bill, and the Orange cut off his phone - and for all Orange sim cards - but still leave the phone useable on other networks.
