Mogi, a cellular scavenger hunt that uses GPS features in second-generation Japanese mobiles to drop a virtual layer of game over the existing landscape. Players use their phones to discover collectable items, and can even be directed to locations by PC gamers playing from home. Because of the nature of the hardware and the location, it's not likely to come over to the US--we're just too spread out, except for the big cities. It's too bad, too; I'd love to play something like this. I wonder if Mogi's maintainers are capitalizing on the advertising opportunities yet? Go to McDonald's, get a special item, etc.
