Yamaha, the company that makes chips with polyphonic sound, announced it had struck a series of agreements with companies producing accessories for brand handsets to ship 64-tone polyphony chips. Very soon there may appear accumulators and vibro clips equipped with polyphonic chips and dynamics. So, users of Nokia 3310 or Ericsson 520, the models still popular, might enjoy polyphonic ring tones. There are some pros: it will be difficult to change melodies (it is supposed the accessories would come with IR-ports) and impossible to set a polyphonic alarm.
