HBH-65 Clarity |

I have an HBH-65 that I have paired with my Z600 and use when I'm in the car.
I can hear incoming calls clearly, but:
1. Call quality at the other end is very bad, almost unuseable.
2. Voice Dialling is a waste of time unless I'm travelling at under 20 Mph (which I don't do).
Is there a problem with my headset? All thoughts gratefully received.
Cheers,
Roy. |

Or perhaps another question:
Are any of you out there using the HBH-65 finding that people you call CAN hear you OK?
TIA. |

I have had my HBH-65 which I am using with my P900 and can only say I am terribly diappointed all round. Poor quality, poor range from the phone, consistently fails to pick up the call on incoming and phone initiated outgoing calls. I accept that a good share of the blame for this might lie with the P900 Bluetooth side of it, but it is all rather sad. I got my first BT headset HBH-20 two and half years ago and that was crap. Seems like the intervening years have not lead to much of an improvement. I am back on my SE supplied wired headset. Guess what? That can answer calls automatically! Something the overpaid muppets who implement BT are still unable to do, despite it being available on wired headsets since around 1994. Please someone post when they find and use a BT headset that actually does what it is supposed to do. Many thanks. Disappointed Gooner. |

I am using HBH-65 with p900 and I must say the quality of the reception is fine, people on the other side are not able to recognise whether I am using the headset or not. And about the range as well I was plesently surprised by the distance I can move away from the phone after leaving it in my bedroom. Also I never had a problem with voice dialling as well.
Having said that I never used it in the car so can't comment on that and I agree with Gooner on its inability to pick up some calls and the difficulty to tranfer calls to the headset (some times). I think SE should look into these aspects of the BT headset

I'm glad to see these posts and find out that I'm not the only one suffering from poor sound quality outdoors or in the car with the HBH-65. I noticed while playing with the unit yesterday that there are certain frequencies in my voice where the HBH-65 picks up better and comes through loud and clear. However, I can't talk like that all the time.
It's interesting that the people that said they've never had a problem with sound quality are the ones that say they don't use in the car or outdoors. Those are places where it's best used. From one of the reviews, though, it doesn't sound like the HBH-35 is any better because of the lower volume and voice quality. So I guess the only choice we really have is the wired handsfree or the handset. Oh well. I guess that's the price we pay for trying to be on the bleeding edge.
By the way, voice dialing is a joke unless you use really long names or multiple syllable words. |

the motorola hs-810 is good. I use it with Z600 and P800 and works fine. Never failed to connect and people can hear me fine even when driving my motorbike. I slow down a bit of course |

well,i also have p900 + hbh-65 and they are doing a nice job for me so far.the quality of the sound is ok,i would give it an 8 on a scale from 1 to 10.i am not using it in the car.the others hear me quite well also.range is good.i would suggest you to go to a SE service center and make a SW upgrade to your BT handsfree.

Having heart all that. I am looking into buying a Jabra BT200 or BT250. I was eying the HB-65 from Sony, but after reading this Forum I am off to greener pastures. |

I use HBH-65 with my z600 all the time in the car at the highway speeds with no problem. I use voice dialing using headset and no problem. Distance is not a problem either although the phone not at so much distance from me when I'm in the car. I have used it while filling up at the self serve station with the phone still in the car and never had a call dropped while doing so. And no body has complained to me yet from the other side of the line about my voice quality. Am I just lucky or what. |

I use my HBH65 with Z600 and I pretty much agree with all the grouses brought up by our discontented friends.
Whenever I am in a car, the other party (more or less) always complains that the reception is bad, whereas I am hearing them loud and clear. The louder the road noise, the worse it gets. HBH seems to be picking up the disturbance rather than my voice (at times, at breaking levels to get through). Nowadays, if this happens, I tell the caller to hold and I simply transfer the sound to phone - Give Up!
On the other hand, HBH reception in the office or at home is almost always perfect in terms of audio quality on both ends, albeit the occasional missed BT connection (whether incoming or outgoing).
I am a 2nd Gen BT user, started with HBH60 and you know what? I honestly think 60 is a better piece of equipment ( overall: better sensitivity ). Sadly, that piece has been eaten up by my dog |

I have been happy with my HBH-65 so far. It does miss a connection once in awhile, usually for incoming. The voice dialing works great but I dont use it in my car. My car is exceptionally loud. People used to complain that they couldnt hear me as well when i was on the headset (said that I sounded staticy and the sound would cut out once in awhile, but since i flashed to R4B006 that problem seems to have gone away.

i think weak p900 bt might be the culprit here cause i also use hbh65 with the t610 and p900 and i found the t610-hbh65 pair is much better in quality than p900-hbh65. |
