The challenges that blind users of cellphones have faced for years are over ... at a price

Mobile Accessibility II on the Nokia 3650 cellphone. This software allows the blind user to have access to the calls, contacts, profiles, ring tones, and messaging features of today's feature-rich cellphones. Downfalls: it's not cheap, and it's not available on low-end phones--Nokia 3650, 3660, 7650, and 6600, along with Siemens SX1, are the phones supported by this software.but it's already worth the money.

NOPPA is a GPS enabled mobile phone with speech recognition that has been developed to help blind people navigate their way around Finalnd.

"The system is designed to offer public transport passenger information and pedestrian guidance for the visually impaired. Noppa is based on available personal navigation components and services.

Using public service databases over Internet ensures that the information is up-to-date. Combining passenger information from various information sources and creation of general-use interfaces have high importance in the project."
