Just like to know if long usage of the phone modem for surfing the net ( around less than 2 hours ) will make it conk out or somewhat damage it. Been testing mine using it as my main modem and when I'm finished and try to turn off the phone, after displaying the ericsson logo at the end; the phone freezes. I mean only the lights remain and slowly it fades but when I close the flip it suddenly turns on. BTW, I'm using T39

I'm afraid that long usage of the phone's modem will somewhat fry its component, overheat or something.

Please help me out or share your opinion. Thanks

I have T39 and use the modem, GPRS and GSM data a lot. I have not had any problems with over heating of the phone. The phone will get warm ofcourse since you use the sender all the time when connected(GSM data).
Using data or voice should be no difference. Do you have the same problems on voice?
When the phone hangs when turning it of, it is more likely a software bug I think.

Anyway it is a great opertunity to swap your phone.....
