Japanese Nando Media introduces a service for mobile phones designed to work with five models of the Toshiba RD series (RD-XS40/RD-X3/RD-XS31/RD-XS41/RD-X4) of hard-disk DVD recorders.
Users can program recordings of shows on their Home DVD Recorder from their Phones anywhere anytime - pretty cool.

Besides programming DVD Recorders other new mobile services in Japan like the Analyzing Skin Condition and Recognizing a Song Title on the Radio service.

I remember reading about the ps2 before it came out and it said you could phone it and command it to turn on so when you get home twill be loaded up. Anyone else hear this |

Well... The "recognising a song" service is available in the uk: just phone 2580 and hold your phone up to the speaker

sky are supposed to be launching a similar service for they sky+ users so you will be able to sms your own sky+ box and get it to record programs while your out |
