I have a very sick problem, my T68i display is somehow dimmed too much. Is there any way to adjust the brightness of the display of T68i? I tried to do it by adjusting the contrast(in the service menu too) but it didn't do the trick.

Possibly half-dead LCD backlight. That happened to a friend's T68 after he accidentally dropped it into the sea.

the strange thing is when I press "C" key(or maybe any other key as well) while the phone shows the real time clock screen saver - the display blinks as it is waking up or initializing to the regular display state(the screen with background picture, clock, signal level,...) and this blink is pretty bright, just as bright as the normal brightness level of other sonyericssons. therefore I think that this could be a software issue rather that hardware one. hmmm?

no I am not using a theme (the original sonyericsson preset), yeah I tried to do anything possible to make the display brighter, including the theme change.

Where is your fone made? Malaysians have darker and dimmer displays than the chinise. U can check it at the imei nr, no need to remove the battery. Whats the 7. and 8. nr? 71 or 45?

Yup, @jowi is definitely right here, bring it to an official SE service center and they'll rip your wallet to the last centavo! You just have no choice here mate! Unless you know someone from some cheap repair shop who can check your fone and correct the damage in the least possible cost/price? Looks like backlight to me?

Have you tried adjusting your contrast (menu>5>3>6) or (> * < < * < *, service settings, contrast) settings?

Dude, have you tried setting up contrast in the service menu and then in settings menu under display/contrast? For example,my t68i is made in China, contrast in service menu is set to 10(directly above zero) and in settings is set to three(or -2). Try setting it like this.
